Loosely coupled Story Board Lane and System Status

There are two types of kanban board available in Quickscrum,

1. Story board
This board enables you to flow story (workitem).

2. Task board
This board enables you to flow task and change the parent story (workitem) status accordingly.

Please note that custom status solution can be achieved only by configuring story board lanes.

We have made relationship between story board lane and workitem system status loosely coupled. Earlier, when you change board lane, workitem status automatically gets updated. It works based on the configuration now, so when you change the board lane workitem status may or may not get updated.

Custom Status Solution

After we have made story board lane and system status loosely coupled, most of the use case can be implemented within Quickscrum such as,

1. Pre-sprint board
2. Post-sprint board
3. Pre-release board
4. Post-release board
5. Mutliple team collaboration through separate boards
6. Phase wise project execution
7. Defect Management Custom flow
8. Ticket Management Custom flow
and many more.

Defect Resolution Field

Not all defects are simply fixed by development. So developer need a way to mark how that defect is resolved. The resolution field is available for defect and issue. You can configure the resolution field values from administration. In general, resolution has following values,

  • Open
  • Fixed
  • Reopened
  • Unable to reproduce
  • Not Fixable
  • duplicate
  • No change required
  • Suspended

Resolution field in the workitem

The resolution field can be placed in any type of workitem though it’s useful for defects only.

Resolution field in the issue

The resolution field is always available in the issue.

Administration

You can configure the resolution field values from administration as per your requirement.

Complexity Field

As the name states, The complexity indicates the complexity of workitem or subitem. This field is available for the workitem, task and issue. You can configure the complexity field values from administration.

The complexity field can be placed in any type of workitem.

The complexity field is always available in the task.

Task Category Field

The task category field helps you to group tasks into certain categories. You can configure the task category values from administration. It is also possible to generate the report to identify, which task category does your team spend most of the time on.
