Bhargav Thakkar, the Director-Entrepreneur, managed to take some time to discuss how their teams are coupled by using the Quickscrum tool.

What were the issues you were facing with Magneto?

Since our very beginning in 2009, we have been pursuing a set of values as definitive guidelines for providing quality service. We create apps that make people smile without knowing it. We care about customers and those using our apps.
Every day is a fresh challenge to adhere to our essential milestone principles.

I will bring to light a few of our problems:

    1. Poor resource management
    2. Teams worked in silos.
    3. There is no proper vision for the project.
    4. Unplanned working style
    5. Poor project execution led to a delay in project delivery.
    6. Geographically distant teams

How has using Quickscrum helped your team?

Our teams are based in Pune and Ahmedabad. Work is distributed among the teams. They are not ready to acknowledge the interdependent nature of work. Quickscrum played a key role in synchronization among the teams. The resource allocation, work progress, and release were communicated through Quickscrum using the following techniques and gadgets:

Timesheet, Resource workload

Help in tracking the time spent by the team members Resource workload assists in optimizing resource utilization. Managers can have a translucent picture of the efforts logged by the team.

Product backlog

The backlog of the project is prepared by the Product Owner and prioritized based on business values. As they are consolidated in one place in the Quickscrum tool, our geographically distributed teams can access it anytime.

Sprint Planning

The drag-and-drop feature of the tool is helpful for planning and staying focused.

Release Planning

This allows you to define the contents of a release or a specific shippable product increment.

Daily stand-up meeting

By this time, in 15 minutes, PO, SM, and team members will all be aware of the progress towards sprint completion.

Sprint Review Meeting

Where the team demonstrates the increment to the PO and the stakeholder, with focus on the Sprint Goal according to the Definition of done.” The client, after review, gives valuable feedback.

Retrospection

The team tells us about their experience in the Sprint, the good points, and the points to change. This helps to plan the training strategy for future skill enhancement.

Progress sharing on a daily basis, Sprint review meetings for every iteration, and retrospectives help us in proper execution and control of the project through continuous improvement.
